Zinkit: getting ideas from the mind into the metal
At Zinkit we also deal with all the design processes related to scale modelling.
We have a long and wide expertise in scale modelling, first as modellers, thereafter as model companies.
We entered the world of 3D modelling many moons back and have been at the forefront of the evolution of this technology, learning, growing, perfecting. We have developed novel methods for the design and production of scale models, either in plastic, resin or 3D printing, with some of our findings and tricks now standard procedures for some of the most reknown companies in the sector.
Our great advantage here is we are modellers and we are designers, and we think on the processes with both minds at the same time.
Thinking to get the most from the moulds, working closely with the mould makers and injection companies for a trouble-free and seamless production. Testing and improving the kit along the process till we can give a full Ok for production.
Thinking to get the most accurate and detailed kit, planning in advance for different options and versions, accurate colours and markings, making it affordable, simple to build, and a true pleasure for the modeller.
Old hobby, new technology
We have been dealing in the hobby with plastic, metal, resin… for decades. We are proud to say we embraced 3D with passion since the very first steps on this revolutionary technology, from designing the kits to the production of these, either as plastic kits or 3D printed ones. The possibilities are almost endless to offer now scale models of subjects never tackled before, when their complexity made for difficult or even impossible production, and prohibitive costs and risks.
Quality in every step
We are obssesed with accuracy and detail. We check and recheck, compare and contrast every source of information needed for our projects till every piece of the puzzle gets into its place. Because reliable, solid information is the one and only base for a perfect 3D process and thereafter to develope a great kit. Sadly this fundamental step is sometimes forgotten by companies more worried on their hype around social media than having a happy modeller and thereafter a loyal customer to the brand.
